Spector TonePump Active Preamp with internal boost control
The Euro5 LX includes a TonePump active preamp with an internal boost trimpot. This preamp employs JFET-based circuitry rather than op-amps, which yields many tube-like characteristics. When you overdrive an op-amp (something that happens at the peak of nearly every note you play), it clips and needs a moment to recover. This results in a perceptible tone loss. Like tubes, the TonePump’s JFET-based circuitry doesn’t do this. Rather, it softly distorts, producing a second harmonic that fuses seamlessly into your note. Beyond that, the first signal after the peak comes through loud and clear — no recovery time required.
Active EMG humbucking pickups are built to groove
The Spector Euro5 LX comes loaded with a pair of EMG active humbucking pickups with ceramic magnets and steel pole pieces. This versatile set delivers a massive array of tonal combinations, including rich, warm single-coil tones and aggressive, mid-forward humbucker sounds.The wide range of tones that these pickups exhibit is well suited for any playing style.
